Are High Intensity Discharge Bulbs Required?

...or can I use non-HID bulbs to replace my bulbs in a 2002 Audi A4 1.8T Quattro? I'm guessing not, but those things are pretty pricey so I'd like to go a cheaper route for the time being if possible.

I would say no, and not sure why you would want to, I mean I know you say cost but if cost of parts is a concern then you shouldn't buy an Audi.....

get the bulbs you need from Krauto Parts, owned by a member here (Emil). A pair of bulbs cost you 20 bucks...
