electrical help required number plate bulbs

Default electrical help required number plate bulbs

Hello all. My numberplate bulb went out yesterday so i replaced this morning. The light on gthe dash still showed up so i checked again. This time the other one was out so off to the shop i went again and replaced that one. This one blew straight away? any one had the same problem? do i need to take the black plastic part off that holds the units and check behind? oh its a 04 plate b6 thanks in advance of any replies

I believe the sylvania replacement bulb number is 6418. Make sure to check your fuses first, they shouldn't blow if you have the right bulbs in there. Mine didn't blow but I had the same problem with new bulbs not working, believe it or not there is a positive side and negative side, try reversing the bulb and see if that works. Also, I found out that the prongs that hold the bulbs in are finicky, you may need to bend them slightly to make sure to get good continuity. By the way, since you're doing it you may want to find some of the cool led replacements, same sylvania number. Easy mod and they look damn good, I've been very happy!
