ok now im gonna spark up a whole bunch of converstaion but here goes.
I disagree. a diverter vavle and BOV are not the same. In theory they are but they surve 2 completly different purposes.
a Bov is designed to release excess pressure into the atmposphere to keep surges from happing in the engine.
A diverter vavle is designed to resurculate excess pressure to prevent turbo lag. The intent of a dv valve when it was created was not to waste any of the boost made by the turbo. the theory is that you resurculated the compressed"boosted" air back into the line so that the there is already compressed air when you get back bac on the gas. therefor elimitnating(sorta) turbo lag
thats a really horrible explination but i hope you get the idea. and a DV can be a dv if you unplug it and plug the return line.
the only reason the maf comes into play with a dv is that audi decided to put the maf before the valve. had they put the maf after the valve then we could use dv or bov.
