Default Holding tight with a VR6?

Saturday night my friend and i went out for some late night rips (yea i know...its not good..watever)...hes got a VR6 Jetta...from a 1st gear roll at about 15 we both took off..i stayed right next to him all the way through 3rd..(60/65mph) ..then he slowly crept away...does this sound right for a 50hp diff?

The only thing I can think of is that you are a better driver then him.
Is your car stock ?
I would think a stock VR6 would pull at least a car length or two away from a stock B5 1.8T

something is not right then if you were staying with this car your car weights more then him and your car is slower than him for sure maybe he was taking it easy on you or something

Are you kidding ? Chipped without knowing ?
You would know if you were chipped.
If hes as good a driver as you say he is , then he would pull away from you.
I agree with clconversion.

you have quattro... so you may pull on him slightly from a dig. but he is MUCH lighter.. and a lot more powerful, as well as having a much more powerful revband then you. something's messed up
