depends on which Vr6 it is...
if it was a mkIII, i believe it is a 172 hp 2.8
MKIV has 2 VR6s... a 200hp 2.8 and a 174hp 2.8

i could be off a hp or 2

That mean if he wanted , he would dust you.
Not enough boost in a stock 1.8T to take a VR6.

also you need to calculate drive train loss the front wheel drive GTI is not going to be losing as much as your Quattro A4 seriously crank hp is for Civics

if it was an mkiv jetta then i can understand. The only really good vr6 was the mk3 12v. Eventhough they continue to make a 12v and 24v steup, they still don't compare to a mk3. Those things come alive on the highway.

i agree with toast the mkIV are slow.. LOL i had a GOlf III VR6 and i chewed up a GOLF IV VR6. im not sure if it was a 24v or 12v but i know i embarrassed him (A FEW TIMES) because this guy was persistant..

i'm pretty sure that there is a mk4 vr6 that still has a 12v but it licks *****. The only vr6's with huevos are the mk3's. My roomate has a 98 vr6 jetta and i ride a 01' a4 1.8tq. My roomates car has some serious compression issues (in a bad way) and that jetta still walks circles around me. My ride is even a little faster than yours autoxer

k... they have the 12V AND the 24V VR6...
the 12V could have taken him... same hp... lighter car, less drivetrain loss. Myabe he could have taken it from a dig... but this was from 1st.
