Default How Concerned Should I Be?

Well, I went to get an oil change and the tech said he found a power steering leak, oil leak, and transmission leak. He also said that the associated fluid reservoirs were full. Seems to me that it would be hard to have those leaks and not have levels go down. The tech also couldn't tell me where the leaks are or anything other than that they exist. Normally, I would be cynical and guess he's trying to squeeze money out of me, but like I said, this guy is just a tech and that shop doesn't even offer the indicated repairs. Also, my garage floor is spotless...if there are leaks, they're slow enough that they don't even drip. It's a 1999 2.8Q Tip. What do you guys think? No CELs and only one unrelated code (P0441).

Just keep a close eye on all your fluid levels. The one thing you cant easily check is your tranny fluid level though.. Are you tip or man?

I don't know how he came to the conclusion that it was leaking, he just did. When I asked him where the leaks were, he gestured vaguely and muttered something about the gaskets, but wouldn't offer anything else and when I asked him if he could narrow it down, he repeated the list of leaks instead. It would be nice to know what he was talking about. I guess all I can do is keep an eye on the levels and on my garage floor.

Well, I'm dating a mechanic, but I really, really don't want to pester him needlessly. Clearly, the lube tech was a moron, but he still might have been right...I'll wait and see. Think I'll be okay with the ol' wait and see?

I think you should check if the tranny is leaking

What kind of symptoms should I look for if there is a tranny leak? Besides a puddle of fluid...
