how difficult is Rear Bearing Replacement?
How difficult is this to do? Do the kits come with explicit instructions? While I am a novice, I have do several repairs myself (brakes, Rotors, etc)
Thanks in advance for your help.

It is very tough if you dont have a press. I went to a buddy of mine that fixes audis and watched him do it. it took an hour and a half if i remember right. there is alot to it. I would just pay someone to do it if they know what they are doing.
One last question, what's the best way to tell if it's front or back? When I turn the wheel to the right, that's when it gets loud, and it sounds as if its coming from the back left.
I just did my last one today. In the past 12 months I have had to replace all 4... first was the right rear, then a few months later both front, and then a couple months after that the left rear.
When I did my rears I took the whole knuckle off the car and took it to someone (local garage) and had them press the bearing in for me. Took me about 20 minutes to take the part off the car, about 20 minutes to put it back on, and I left my parts at a shop for the day while I was at work and picked them up on my way home. The most troublesome part was getting the axle bolt off. The head of my bolts (all four of them) were badly rusted. I had the correct size allen socket and the head of the bolt just crumbled to dust as I truned the wrench. I had to break out the tourch and heat it up in order to get it out.
Total cost out of pocket was about $80. Got the bearing kit from ECS (make sure you get a new axle bolt even if your's are in good shape- they need to be replaced each time they're removed) and it cost me about $20 in labor for a shop to press the new bearing in.
I was quoted at least $150 in labor (not including parts) to do my front ones just because of the pinch bolt. The mechanic knew what a PITA they can be and price gouged me because he didn't want to do them. So I took the knuckles off myself and took them to someone to have the bearings pressed in, just like I did with the rear ones.
