An MBC with no ECU mods? While simple in theory, that is asking for worlds of trouble down the line. Better be reading plugs and VAG logging the whole time to make sure the car is running the way it should. The ECU, regardless of how much boost the MBC will let the car have, is not set up in stock form to handle that. If it were that easy, everyone would've done it.

mbc dont cause problems, stupid people cause problems. Nobody on here seems to have any knowledge about a boost controller but jeff. A ball and spring on a stock turbo is not very smooth, a bleed valve is VERY smooth. This in due to the way they work. You can also put them inline with the n75 also. But i have run what i have run for over a year now and with zero issues or problems, you cant argue with that.

True 'dat.... I won't argue because if it works for you, then more power to you. I say the same thing to myself about BOV every time someone gets flamed for asking or trying one here, when on the other Audi forums they are common and VAG LOGs are showing no problems from them in cars that put out way more hp/tq than most of the cars here. My DV is just as loud as a BOV anyhow so I don't use a BOV, but a BOV is not a problem... even though in theory it is.
If I were running a MBC on a stock ECU, I still would be logging tons of 3rd gear pulls on all blocks and taking out my plugs to see what they can tell me also.
It doesn't make sense that it could work long-term, because the ECU would have no idea why requested and actual boost don't match, and even your A/F and timing would be all messed up based on boost levels exceeding what the ECU thinks they should be.
Lots of people run MBC on big turbo kits, but then they have software and timing/boost variables with switchers like the REVO SPS3 that can change things.
I wouldn't try it stock, and I'm not stock ECU so it doesn't matter; but if it works for you, then go for it!

I have two cars running it now and both are smooth and faster than a apr chip gti with an exhaust. Fuel is in check, plugs are perfect and mbc are simple to use and install.

i do agee 100% with cincytt. mbc are not bad at all. people are the negative factor in this. if you dont know what your doing you cant just put a mbc on and crank up the boost.

a boost controller gives more benefit than just upping the boost also. People seem to forget that.
