I searched for this and did find an old thread with pictures and diagrams showing exactly what I needed to do but it was old so the pictures were gone! And it was only one thread in another forum. Basically I just need to know what to do to put Seafoam in engine. I 've already put a can in gas tank, that worked well enough, and right now I dont plan on putting it in the crankcase.
I have an automatic 2003 3.0 V6 Quattro.

 

This might help, yea its a different engine but the concept remains the same, just find a vacuum line at the rear of the engine. Maybe around the EGC valve.

Hey after you put some in the tank were there any noticeable results?

 

Actually I've seen that link, but it didnt help becuase it is a different engine and I have no idea as to what I'm doing. I'm a total noob when it comes to engines and stuff but have absolutely no problem following directions. Basically I need to know where my vacuum lines are and how to disconnect them, also I've seen that in all these guides, gaining access to the vacuum lines requires cutting a "one time clip", is that something that needs to be replaced afterwards?

 

Oh, and after putting Seafoam in my tank, I do think I got slightly better gas mileage. I know it was to some benefit as my car 77k miles on it. The mileage on it is also why I wanna treat the engine.

 

i have an 02 3.0 6sp i diidnt use seafoam i added an oil cleanser to my oil im gonna cahnge it soon as so to see how bad my oil filter is full of crap.

 

Yeah Seafoam can be used in your oil too. But I still wanna know how to treat my engine with it! Anynbody?
