Default How do you drive your A4?

I'm really starting to get confused...I have a B5 A4 with the 2.8 (12v) and even though it's not that powerful, my friend insisted that I drive it like a sports car...so today I did...it makes a good noise, but didn't beat his 6spd 04 Celica GT-S. My car is auto and I kind of want it to last a while. Does driving it "hard" occasinally seriously f*** up the car that badly?

I know it's a stupid question but I thought I'd ask anyway.

Thanks guys!

Don't stress, driving your car "hard" from time to time will not harm it. Just keep up on scheduled maintenance, oil changes, fluids etc etc and you will be fine.

There are guys on this forum that drive their cars hard everyday to and from work and then race them on the weekends. It's a car, drive it and enjoy it.

Yep yep, once in a while is OK... though VW/audi auto trannies scare me... they were atrocious back in the day... like b4 passats with auto's were terrible!

But yeah... 9 times out of 10, I drive my car as though it were made of porcelain... and I do oil changes with synthetic every 3K miles. But we all have to drive it sort of hard sometimes. Even the 12 valvers!

Hopefully the auto trans (not triptronic) is built pretty well on these cars...my car is one of the first years of the A4.
