To all you a4 owners with the bose stereo system how do you like it? Does the sub produce descent bass and is the stereo loud and clear?

 

Yes. To me. But that's a subjective question.

 

the bose system is a much better quality sound than almost any aftermarket components. the bass is incredibly clean. however, if you like big bass, you may want to get a non-bose system with some subs.

 

I currently have an after market system in my car that im selling but its going with the car (2 12" Jl Audio W612s with rockford amp and (6) 6 1/2" pioneer hights and 2 tweeters powered by another rockford amp so I am used to serious noise, but im not really wanting all that anymore but need a little something. The reason I ask is because a friend has a subaru wrx and it has a factory sub and the system sounds pretty good so I think I would be happy with the bose system in the a4 but just wanted others opinions on it.

 

if u get the bose u can NOT change it to aftermarket unless u replace the ENITRE system because it runs at a different volt (or soemthing like taht) so if u have any hope to installing better speakers or head unit do not buy with a bose.

 

It's not bad, it lacks some low end bass. Thats why I added a 12" sub to it.

 

all highs and no lows - must mean its a bose

 

there isnt that much bass from the bose system but the clarity is ggreat, my days of bumpin bass and setting off alarms died when i sold my civic

 

my dads got the bose in his 99.5, i dont have it in my 99.5, all i can say is next time hes away I will have bose and he will not..Its amazingly better

 

jest, how did you add a sub to the bose system? i thought you couldn't do that unless you changed out everything?
