Default how does someone break into my A4

I have a 2010 Audi A4 (that I am actually in love with), twice now someone has broken into the vehicle. Yes, the alarm goes off but that really does me no good. Without a fob how are they getting in? The police said they are not using a slim jim as there are no marks on the window. There is no damage to my Audi so I cannot figure out how they are getting inside.

Any ideas?

To be honest the alarm is not loud enough. I am not even sure what triggers it to go off, it doesn't go off from pulling on the door handle. Seems they must already be inside before it goes off.

Has stuff gone missing/moved or is it possible the alarm is faulty and just going off randomly?

Yes, the glove box is open, the ashtray is emptied of coins, the central console is wide open, etc. I don't leave anything in the car so all they got was the parking change.

So the alarm goes off too late. I can't figure out how they are getting in without damaging the car. Is it possible they have a generic fob that opens the car??

I guess it is possible they "stole" your RF with some type of scanner (read about, know nothing about it). Wonder if you need to take the car to a dealer and have the remotes reprogrammed to change the RF code? Of course if they did use some tool to steal your RF then they could just do it again.

Are the doors locked when you come out after it has been broken in too? Are all the doors unlocked or just say the passenger door?

its sad but its easy to do. they are prob using a airbag jimmy and pumping up a small wedge bag between door frame and b pillar. then just take a long coat hangar and pull the **** up to unlock the door. it can be done in about 10 seconds or so and doesnt damage to door frame (much).

not sure how really to prevent that, would be nice if door lock button on inside was somehow more hidden / concealed.

There were a few news reports a while back about a 'new' device thieves are using to break into cars. Here's a link and a video that explains it:
