Default How to get rid of warning light idicator?

Hi guys,

I just replaced my rear break pads as the warning light was on, after replacing them how do you reset that light?. I have a code scanner and tried that to no avail...........I was thinking about disconnecting the battery, besides that anyone have tips?

thanks, JC

Did you replace it with pads that have new sensors in them? If so are the front pads ok? The light turns off when new padswith sensorsare installed. there is no resetting.

What light? The pads light? If so - only the front pads have sensors, not the rears...

Hmmm I had my upper control arms replaced about two weeks ago and thats when the light came on when i picked it up from the dealer. My rear breaks were squeling so i had them replaced , but the front pads still ave 75-80% of the pad left. Maybe it is possible that the tech forgot to hook the sensor back up?.......Is the sensor easy to locate?

Thx, JC

That could be the issue - check the front pads to see hoe much meat is left on them. Also check the sensor wires to see if they were hooked back up.

its a simple connector near the back side of the rotor and it runs to the brake pad. forget what side but I want to say driver side and I think it is only on one side(atleast the jettas are that way). If it is connected I would make sure that there is no cuts in the wires from them doing something.
