Default How loud is a straight pipe exhaust?

I tried searching but couldn't find anything. Thanks.

Also what about performance gains?

Wow, thats pretty loud. What about on a turbo car? And if I kept the cat in there? Would that provide enough back-pressure?

Where's TheRussian? I think he is straight piped now that I think about it.

You will get a ticket for that too.

it is insanely loud. i only have 1 muffler on my techtonics exhaust so i took it off and it sounds like a turbo diesel at low end and a dragster when you floor it. at night if there's a cop within a mile or 2, he will hear you.

here's a vid of The Russian's car stragiht piped. mine actually sounded louder than his (i think cuz of the test pipe)

i've strait piped mine a time or too, 3" turbo back. and it is very loud. it's like driving around a racecar. i wouldn't recomend it for dailey driving. i just do it at the track..

the audible level will be determined by what diameter you go with also.

no backpressure causing a CEL? no, that's silly. for the lack of cat, you will most likely throw a CEL. but that's about it.

powergains will be determined by what exhaust you already have on the car. since it looks like you're running stock exhaust on PC-16, you should pick up 10-15+hp easy. and your turbo will be able to breathe. making for a bit of a faster spool

oh and like said, a strait pipe exhaust is illegal, and extremely obvious. leading to getting caught in no time if you're not carefull.. and penalties for not running a catalytic converter is pretty harsh in most states
