Are they oiled when they come out of the box? I put one in about 3 days after I bought my car. I know you have to oil them after cleaning them, but out of the box are they essentially oiled?

 

yea, i know mine came pre-oiled.

 

Yeah, they have to have oil, or they don't work.... oil is what stops the dirt.

And yes, they are definately oiled out of the box.

 

Ive always used k&n. Im with chris tho, not much of a hp gain on a ko3. Use it on a gt28r or ko4, something that sucks more air. You will notice it.

 

Damn it, my K&N was like $60 and I don't wanna have to go buy another filter and lose a little power. Is the MAF clogging common on Audi's or every vehicle with a K&N? I had one on my truck for 30K miles with no problems. Kind of curious, never heard about this before.

 

I just went down to my local Tractor supply place and got me a home made air filter.
It keeps birds and small children out.
