how much oil do i need for the a4? last time when i went to change my oil it seems that they did not put enough.

 

Most places OVERFILL.

The 1.8T engine takes about 4 qts. with the larger 068-115-561B filter, although this varies a bit among the different build versions. My AUG now takes exactly 4.0 qts. to the top of the hash; when my internal cam seals leaked, it took as much as 4.4 qts.

The 12V 2.8 V6 takes 5.0 liters = 5.3 qts., although I run a slightly oversize filter on mine (no need to do this; just a habit from owning a 1.8T).

 

i dont know what car you have but for the 2.8 30v i put in 5 quarts, run it, let the oil settle, then add more if needed.

 

Buy 5 quarts, you'll use 4.

 

we ushally pour in 4.5 but put in 4 and check the dipstick afterwards

 

i must be doing something wrong...

every time i fill up mine takes around 12-13 gallons.

 

what are you driving a 1970 international ?

 

30v 2.8 Takes 6-6.2 quarts
20v 1.8 Takes 4-4.2 quarts as stated earlier
30v 3.0 Takes 6.4 quarts
30v 2.7 Takes 6.8 quarts
40v 4.2's Take at least 7 up to 9 depending on motor and chasis

All of these numbers take into account that the filter is removed first. If you drain the oil first and then pull the filter some oil will drain back to the pan.
