Default How to remove satellite antenna

Hey all,

Just picked up a Certified Pre-Owned 2004 A4 1.8T last week. It does not have the navigation system or satellite radio, yet it has what I believe to be the satellite antenna mounted on the roof (see pic). I use Telenav on my Blackberry for navigation and do not want or need satellite radio, I have used it on rental cars and it doesn't do anything for me.

Can the antenna be removed easily? Will there be a hole that needs to be patched?

Thanks is advance for your help.

Steve

i believe that antenna is also for your am/fm radio as well as sat. you might want to leave it there unless you don't want anykind of radio reception.

I don't believe so. I'm fairly sure that antenna is a bit short for FM or AM wavelengths. I think the radio antenna is in the rear glass. To check if it is, listen to FM radio, then energize the rear defroster. It will kill your reception if you have an in-glass antenna.
