How to replace left-side parking light?
Hello there!
I have been googling and searching these forums for a couple of hours now to see if I could find any information or guidelines on how to replace a broken parking light bulb (left side) on my 2004 A4. No luck so far and what little I have found just makes me confused. From what I've read it should be possible to do yourself without removing the entire housing but I just don't see how. The headlights are of the xenon-type.
Can anyone please provide me with some advice? I do not have much experience with fiddling around in cars and my native language is not english so please be detailed.
Regards
Jörgen

take out the air box
and it willl be easier to remove the headlight and replace the bulb, i belive there are two torx screw on top of the lights, and one down inside the fender behind the light.
should be fairly easy from there

Ok, so there isn't actually a way to do it without taking out the entire housing. Once I get the headlight out, will I need to disassemble that also?
Thanks for the reply

Nevertheless I will check the owners manual (I just assumed there was nothing about it in there for some reason). But I'm counting on Lazer Viking to be right and I have to remove the entire headlight.
So, will I have to disassemble the headlight once it's out, or is it a matter of simply pulling out the broken bulb and replace it? It's just that I don't know much about xenon lights and I don't wanna break anything.

I tried removing the headlight - 2 torx screws at top and 1 torx screw at the side (by the fan) - but I was only able to move the housing a few cm's. Is there a fourth screw underneath which I can only reach from below? I could not feel with my hand where it was still stuck. Do I need to twist the headlight in some special way to unhook it?
I believe there is 4 screws and the headlight should move right out its also covered you have to look for it. there are a couple DIY's on here that deal with the B6 head light removal. Look for those, and yes its jsut pulling out the lgiht i think its counter clock wise, and getting the new one, if its a HId its $$ to replace if its not go to Walmart or if your in Europe an autoparts store or dealership

Ok, I got the headlight out after a bit of cursing (did not have great tools for reaching the 4th torx screw) only to find that the autoparts store sold me the wrong bulb. They sold me a W5W which I think is for non-xenon headlights while the correct part is named H6W. A bit annoying but at least I know how to remove the headlights now.
I'll get the correct bulb tomorrow and try again.
Thanks for your help. :-)
