Does anyone know why both my headlights are saying “dipped” since I installed my new Xenon package last night? I aimed them lower too, is that what caused it? Or is this a common problem with installing a plug and play kit?

I just recieved a reply from the guy who sold me the lights. Here's his response...

Your Audi is detecting that you now have HID and is letting you know of this. You will have to have the computer reprogrammed to tell your car that it's got Xenons now.

 

Same problem here after installing my aftermarket HID kit. It only happens every once in a while, but it goes away afer 15 seconds when the lights are turned on.

 

Tell it gently while stroking the hood.

Your ECU is looking for the resistance from the regular headlights and instead sees Xenons ballasts. I believe that you will have to recode the ECU with a Vagcom to Xenon.
