what about the ignitor chip. i was gonna replace it or check the connection bc i know if this is unhooked it will not turn over but crank. i had this problem on my sr20det. i just dont know where the ignitor chip is on the 01. i know where it is on the 98

first off... the grinding noise sound like some kind of debri got into the head(if it did---thats not good news.....) i would check the oio pan for metal...

 

no thats not it. good job for reading the link though. you wount here a gringind noise if something fell in the head. you would hear "ping........ping.....ping...ping..ping.pingpingpingpingpingBOOOOOOM!!!!!
