i broke 4 wrenches this morning trying to get the damn machanical fan off so i could change my timing belt. is it a reverse thread. i am turning it counter clock wise (if ur looking at the car from the front). its not even moving!!! anyone have a similar problem or am i just turning it the wrong way?? its pissing me off!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! i already bent the pulley.

 

if its reverse thread youll have to turn clockwise.

You sure you should be going at this alone??

Dont forget to use pb blaster on the bolts to avoid breaking wrenches and stripping the heads on the bolts/screws.

 

see..... that really makes me mad cause the manual i was reading said nothing about a reverse thread! infact all it said is it may be difficult to remove if its been on the car for years. i soaked the bolt with penitrating oil....hopefully i will come off now!

 

looking from the front of the car its a left hand thread to undo it sharp knocks on the spanner with a hammer will loosen it
