Hey guys i was wondering if you can help me figure out what is wrong with my car..Well on monday coming from school in my 98 audi 1.8T i was being followed by a CRX Si.. well i stepped on it and lost him then he came again we started to run onthe freeway.. well when i got home i felt the cluch pedal weird so i pushed the pedal in and it stayed in!!.. and then i tried to put it in first gear and it wouldnt go in!!.. i had to pull the cluch pedal with my toes!! from your experience what can you tell me!!.....

never had anything like this happen to me... maybe ur clutch is busted? before this happened how was ur clutch ? how many miles on it? when shifting did it shift smoothly?

 

that happened to me once in my mustang about 2 years ago, never happened again... if it makes you feel better, you can pull the car out of gear without the clutch, and shift without it for that matter, but in the mustang it was a 'clutch quadrant' but thats a cable driven clutch, and the part was plastic and its a common problem for the cable to fall off, then pop back on it.

 

blown trans...............no jk man i dunno.......is the a4 have a cable clutch or hydrolic?

 

its something with the clutch linkage, worst case the throwout bearing... but my guess is the linkage. its prob hydraulic, but its so tiny it could be cable driven

 

hydraulic i think...it happened to my brothers bmw las week....i'l check what was the problem on his tomorrow..

 

yeah i had it towed to a mechanic and from what i decribed to him what had happened. he said it might be the hydraulic of the clutch.. it turns on and everything but i cant get it into gear.. and to tell you the truth i dont know how many miles the clutch had on it!!.. well if anyone has something like this happened to them hit me up and tell me the outcome of it thanks guys for your comments..

 

Could be master or slave cylinder for the clutch.. Same thing happend to me on a prelude... Check your fluid level, sounds like there is at least air in the system if not a leak.
