Yeah, I'd agree with waiting to get a B7. Your car looks clean as it is and will most likely still have decent sale value down the road. But hell if you can make payments on a B7 now go for it.

It seems to me that if you're looking to go BT, then fuel economy may not be as high on the list of priorities as it was originally portrayed. Still, if you're gonna get a 1.8 or a 2.0, then you may be better off going ahead and doing it now. You've already got 134k miles and that's going to continue to increase, and the corresponding resale of your car will decrease accordingly. If you don't want payments, and prefer to pay cash for the car, then getting the most for your 2.8 would seem to be a priority. That 1.8 in the picture looks to be in nice shape - why wait?

Who ever said the 1.8T was good on gas? It is marginally better than my 6 cylinder BMW was but only marginally. I would have a hard time beleiving the savings would be more than $20 a month.
