The white lithium grease didn't work. I turned the heat on this morning, and the noise started.
It sounds like it's the motor in the fan. Does anyone know the name of the fan so I can replace it? Thanks

 

If it is coming on when you turn on your climate comtrol, it should be the condenser fan motor. If you have an "economy" button you can also select that and the fan shouldn't run. It runs when the a/c is on and for some reason the a/c likes to run a lot on cars with climate control. There should only be 2 fans up there, one for the engine and another for the a/c condenser. It should be a fairly standard 12v dc motor, try Grainger, Johnstone supply, or of course the dealer.

 

i just tried the econ button, great quick fix thanks alot. could you tell me exactaly what the econ button does? i assume if it turns the fan off it cant be used with the AC so do i have till spring to replace the fan?

The econ button turns off your whole AC system. Your compressor is no longer on. It just makes the air go through your heater core and the main fan for your heater is the only one running.
