I have a question
My mom is considering getting an Audi A4, but she's not too tech savvy, so I'm doing this for her. Our neighbor has one and she really likes it, and we're going to look at them this weekened. He told her that the A4 (Non-Convertible) has 30MPG. Is this correct?
Thanks,
Manson

RE: I have a question
it all depends on how she drives, flooring it will never get her 30 MPG, however, if she drives conservatively then possibly many factors come into play here. btw get quattro, it is my favorite (one of) on the car...

RE: I have a question
City driving? If your looking for MPG I would go the the Jap's for that. The 2.0T should be able to get it but the first time she starts hitting that 2800rpm range well... Power can become a drug. What's her driving habits that will help us know what to say.
2.0T fwd can get 30mpg
2.0T quattro you'll get 28ish "Its Worth The Loss"

RE: I have a question
Depends on a lot of things. If you search "gas mileage" or something similar you should find some threads regarding this from not too long ago. I can tell you that my 145k mile 2.8 30V will reliably get 32mpg on the highway with windows up or vented and AC off. Several other 30V guys replied also with similar mileage. MPG in the 30s is definitely possible and not all that uncommon provided the car is cared for. Replacing the coolant temp sensor and O2 sensors can go a long way toward improving mileage as well, on any engine in the A4. A full tune-up is not a bad idea either (new fluids/filters/plugs/wires will help from this).
