ok here is the deal i have a 99 a4 tip i just bougt like 3 months ago and i got it chipped. well the car was fine for like a week after gettinbg chipped but my boost gauge was only showing around 10psi so i took it back to the place i got it chipped and i wait for like an hour and they give me my keys back and said my tranny is blown. so i took the car back home then took it to this local tranny shop and had them rebuild my tranny, they had the car for like 2 1/2 weeks then they called me said its ready so i go to get the car and still the car will jump up in rpms in drive but wont move hardly at all then when it kicks in it jolts forward and is so rough and it was doing everything it was before i took it to the shop. so i take it back to the place they said they probably just have to clear some codes so ok they did that and they dropped the car off at my house saturday around 12 and they car was perfect until around 3 then all of the sudden waiting to get my car wash it started to stall and do everything all over again. Im so lost of what this could be. do you guys have any input?

 

Im not too sure, but it sounds like your computer is tripping out and not engaging the transmission properly.

Go back to the transmission place and tell them to fix it and not call you until it is done. And make sure thye dont charge you. This is now their problem. By them doing the work, they have taken responcibility for it not working and they have to fix it.

 

do you have a cel? go to autozone and pull your codes and tell me the numbers. also you may have stored codes even if the cel isnt on.
or take it back and leave it there tell its fixed ike audicross said

what chip did you get? did you get a tip chip to go with it?

i got an apr chip and no tip chip i dont think the chip has anything t do with this becuase so many people have there tip's chipped and dont have any problem
and no there isnt a cell.

 

doubt the chip caused it. those trannies should be good up to 300 ft/lbs of tq. a chip doesn't produce anywhere near those kind of numbers. do what audicross said and take it back to the tranny guys. its their problem now.

and even if their isn't a CEL, there might be stored codes. go to autozone and see if there are any codes before you take it to the tranny guys. if there is post them up here. was there ever a CEL during this whole ordeal?
