Got few questions for you Audi gurus out there.

I've wanted to buy a car for the longest time that is going to be my daily driver yet fast and somewhat cheap.

I recently started to monitor Audis' for sale and it seems like i can get 96-99 Audi A4for under 4-5k, however as you know they all come with high mileage. Looking at A4 with 120+ miles. Are these cars cheap because the engine is about to go? How much more can I get out of the car with that many miles?

Also the turbo issues. I had a 01 Wolfsburg Jetta, and few months after I bought it in 04 turbo went out. What's the deal with turbo Audi’s, what to do when you buy a car and want to sort of start with a new slate? I don’t want turbo to bail out on me. Pretty costly.

i know people with a4's 1.8t with over 200k miles on them still running fine. many people on here have a4 with over 100k miles. if the turbo goes you can fine used ko3 for very cheep.

 

welcome, i personally have 197,XXX on my 96 and it is running just fine and with care can easily see 250+ if not 300 I would imagine.

 

the 2.8 general has less problems but some 1.8t have lesser problems. you can nvr tell. i would get a 2.8 though

 

i was wondering if all a4's 1.8 come with the FWD, or some of them have quattro option.

Also i was wondering what kind of fuild A42.8 take vs 1.8?

What are some things to watch out for with 1.8 turbos?
