hey i just bought a 1996 a4 2.8 quattro...ive been researching and i cant seem to find parts for it to give it power...just wondering if anyone has anyideas for me so i can increase my horse...anything would be great..let me know

 

Sorry you bought the wrong car for engine modifications. No good mods commercially available really. You must resort to traditional tuning like porting and polishing and custom exhaust.

There is a guy named mance who used to make some products for your car. Not sure if he's still doing it.

 

If you want power its going to come at a great cost, major motor work is what it takes to make power and theres pretty much nothing off the shelf so its all gotta be custom

 

so theres noway to somehow...take a 1.8 turbo and somehow put it one mine..something crazy i have no idea im talking outta my butt here

 

not the 12v the 30v has many options like a supercharger, 12 turbo setup has probably not ever been done..... but i dont know for sure

 

yeah thats what i found out seems everything performance is 98+..i didnt know that when i bought it...im just looking to somehow get 200...lil more...seems a lil doggy right now

 

well i am having the same problem as you and some of the guys told me for exhaust you don't really need to do pipes, just higher flow cat converters and mufflers, and i have heard of mance etheridge and emailed a company that told me about him and said they forwarded my email to him but i havent gotten any word so if any of you know how i could get in touch with him let me know, i know www.tap.com has some parts for 12v power, they have cone k&n filter and bored throttle body which they claim is good for another 15hp, that plus some exhaust and a ported manifold you might be able to get 200hp out of it, im in the same boat as you so ill let you know what i figure out.

 

i also found a chip from jet that claims 10-12hp gains but it doesnt sit well with the guys on this forum and from what they said about the ecu it sounds like they know what they're talking about more than the company
