I need tips about dealers
my parents are looking for a new/used car from a dealer..my mom wants a suv so i dunno if we can wait for the Q7 to come out.. so i was wondering if i go to the audi/bmw/mb dealer.. what would be the best way to get a price lowered on a car. and are there any "fees" that they will bs which we should avoid?
Find out what the invoice is on the car, and let the dealer make the first offer on price. I just bought my certified pre-owned A4 from a dealer, and I was just stubborn until I thought I was getting a good deal ($500 over invoice, not counting the pre-owned fees they paid).
First do some research and get the invoice price. Then go to the dealership and drive the car. When you sit down to talk about it tell them you know they got the car for x price and your willing to pay y amount over x. No detailing charges, underbody coatings, etc. Read everything they want you to sign. Take it home if you want. If your not happy walk out. There may be only one dealership in your city but theres tons around the country. Dont be afraid to walk out on any dealership. They need you alot more than you need them.
