I just ordered Amsoil 5w-40 Euro blend, so that will go in in about a week when it gets here.

Go with mobil 5-30, its what I use. Mobil offers great protection and heat dissapation. I have a 97' 2.8 and have tryed a couple different oils, (ams, valvoline, castrol syn) the mobil seems to get the best gas milage and overall perfomace. Its also good for around 10k miles. I would reccomend changing just the filter every 5k and top off the loss.

I was just thinking myself of doing Mobile 1 Synth 10W/30... I have used the 10W/30 in my other cars and it seems to do well. Never in the Synth though any reason I should consider others... I too am interested in what you are referring to as the big filter... I have been using Mann filters in my Audis for quite some time.. Usually by a few at a time as I commute and try and keep up on oil changes... that’s part of the reason to switch to the Synthetic... I almost doubled my commute here recently and it just seems crazy to change the oil as often as I have been.
