I think I F**ed up Oil Pressure

This is just odd, routine oil change same oil as last time and the time before. I put in the standard STP filter that I've always used same number and checked with book cool it right. I put in the 5qts just a hair over the 4.8 it recomends but slighly bigger filter so it makes up for the extra room. I ran it checked for leaks all is good. I get to work this morning and right as I make the last turn in the oil pressure light comes on. Thank god I have a quart in my trunk but theres still no leaks. The engian bay is clean no visiable leaks that I can see and it still runs good. What might have happened could it just be that it wants more. The stick is now saying there is nothing in there!

did you purge the filter? did you run the engine after filling and was it right?,

if you fitted a larger oil filter it could take 2 liters to fill it and it would show on the dip stick as low so the system needs more oil to compensate for the large oil filter

are u sure dipstick aint broken, deff check the oil and make sure you dont over fill, open the oil cap and look to see if you can see any oil, how is the temp are you over heating???

Nope didnt over fill her at all might just be a little low. With the differnt filter I'm probley just under I hope. I was worried about the oil pressure sensor as I let a friend drive it doing a little sight seeing the in mountions. Rocky roads tend to pop out of no ware as I had it explained to me.

Avant80@2.6 I change my filter everytime, in the enviroment that I live in it's never failed me in keeping my cars to 160k easy so no plans on changeing that pratice. But if I add 2 more qts what might be a sign of trouble to watch out for? I use to add 8qts to my old caddy with a 472V-8 and would hate if I have to get to that point again damm it gets expensive after 2 years lol.

Thank you all for the tid bits of info just making sure nothing is wrong not the heavy mechinal type evan thou I can guess whats wrong and be almost spot on every time.
