Idea for using the RJ45 jack
I have a B5, with the RJ45 jack under the arm rest. I assume it has power running to it, and I was wondering if I could use it to power the cell phone charger I bought that plugs into the cigarette lighter. I have the charger already, and an RJ45 end and crimper, so I guess I just need to know if there is power, if it is the right voltage, and which pins to crimp the charger wires into.
yeah I haven't really heard of anyone succesfully converting that into anything. I'm sure it can be done though. Since your phone charger is 12volt it should only have a power and a ground. Just ground it elsewhere and try touching the power to each of the terminals on the RJ45...

Sorry, I dont know how it would be wired up in the car already, I would just use a multimeter or test lite to find out.
Sorry if my response seemed sarcastic, you'd be surprised that some people here may not know what that is.
