So has anyone been bold enough to find out how to wire it to use it as an outlet?

 

Awesome! I just got done taking out the rj45 plug and fitting in a power adaptor from radio shack. Took the armrest out and found a red/grn wire. Tapped into that and luckily it was a 12v unswitched source. It looks totally factory. Only took like 45 mins to do.

Ohh man if you could use your sat radio antenna to get sat internet.. and then hook it up to the car and plug your laptop in that would be sweet!! Or just make your car a mobile hotspot.. that would pretty pimp

 

Well I'm about to go tear into mine and make it a power outlet for my FM tuner but wondered if you all think I should wire it so that it becomes another DC 12V power outlet or just spade connector the tuner into it?

 

Opened it all up and of course, my test light's bulb was blown. So does anyone know off the top of their head which wire is for power and which is ground?

 

Green is the power source, red wont be used, and youll need to find a place to ground.
