I have a 1998 Audi a4 1.8T and a few days ago I was driving home and all of a sudden the check engine light started flashing and the car lost a lot of power. The ride is really jumpy and I have barely any power/ acceleration.

I took it to my local audi guy and he read it and it said Misfire on #2 plug. So we replaced the plugs and also switched around the coil packs, but it still is doing it. He is out of ideas and now I have to take it to my dealer.. They said to take it up and they will try to look at it within the next few weeks?!

The car is jumpy while it idles and when driving and doesn't want to accelerate at all. The check engine light is still flashing.

I just wanted to know if anyone had any ideas because I dont think I have the time or patience to wait weeks for them to look at my car.

You said you switched around the coil packs. Try replacing the coil packs. MIne did the same thing and I just replaced them all, an problem solved. The coil packs on these cars are known to fail over time.

What is the code it is throwing now? We will be better able to tell youif we know the code.

 

The code was p0302.

When you changed your coil packs..did you try to switch any or did you just replace them all the first time?
