i've been runnin on 50/50 antifreeze coolant wen its leaking for the last couple of hundred miles. wut is goin to happend to my engine ne advice?

wut i meant to say was... my coolant has been leakin for quite some time. i jus don't have the money to fix it or have time to fix it. so i jus put some antifreeze coolant from autozone 50% water 50%coolant. this was for temporary use but endup using it for the last couple of hundred miles or so. i'll need to replace the hose. my question is wut will happen if i keep on runnin like this wit the coolant. some say that theres a special kind of coolant jus for a4's.

 

im having the exact same problem...no money no time....and been like this for awhile also....so any advice?

 

At least get the correct coolant for the car.

Audi takes G20 coolant which you can get from Audi or VS dealers.

don't use Green regular antifreeze. It is not compatible.

I believe Prestone makes an Extended version which says it is compatible with all cars. That would be a good compormise to use temporarily. Nake sure you read the label.

 

As long as you keep the coolant topped up, you shouldn't really have any problems. Its when you run out of coolant that things will go bump in the night.

 

Yellow, Global Extended Life Anti-Freeze is good.

Many manufacturers are available.

 

Instead of spending all your money on antifreeze just replace the hose. its not like you have to change the whole radiator it shouldnt take alot of your time or $$...

 

G12 not G20

 

Zerex makes something compatable with Audi's, it'll say it on the list of compatbale manufacturers on the front of the bottle.
