Default I'm stumped, headlight problem

Heres the scoop. My low beams/high beams/fog lights/wipers/horn/blower motor/rear defroster all have stopped working. After searching these forums liberally I decided that my multifunction switch was bad. I pulled it out and basically completely rebuilt the sucker. Still not fixed. So I ordered a new one. The one I was sent didn't seem to line up well with the other one it seemed. One plug was flipped upside down and there was also an additional plug in that wasn't even there on the new switch. Either way I still plugged it in and it didn't fix the problem, so I havn't decided if it was the wrong one of not, but who knows. All of my fuses are good and I wanted to check the relays but can't figure out where they are located (someone point me in the right direction and tell me how to get to them, please). I also don't know if it could be the ignition switch, but I am unsure. I tried jiggling the key and nothing changed. Is there anything else I should look for before just giving up and sending it to the dealer? BTW, this is on a 98 Audi A4 Quattro 1.8T manual, in case that matters. This car is just my daily driver as I am building a stroker 98 Eclipse GSX currently. Any help at all would be greatly appreciated.

Yes it did.I started my car to warm up in the morning before work. When I went to take off, nothing would work. I still have cruise control though, which I thought was rather funny to be honest.
