I'm very scared!
Man i don't it shouldn't be too difficult though, just take a look at the front of the engine and look for the only "silver" thing on the belt drive with a square piece on top and use your 17mm wrench on it and turn it over one way, its spring loaded so its gonna take some pressure and effort.
well... im bringing my car to get fix on the 16th.... i have a feeling my pockets are going to have massive holes...
going to get the timing belt done and the altenator fixed....
any estimate?

yah... he mentioned the water pump to.... he says that to fix the oil sludge he would have to get to the timing belt... so i figured might as well do it because it needs to be done...
the thing that i think is going to send my price through the roof is that he says he recommended to use the original audi tbelt kit....
he says most aftermarket kits arent to reliable...
so i figure if for a tbelt is like 300 max.... for an original its prob 600-700

The factory timing belt kit is the best way to go, but the timing belt has nothing to do with the oil sludge problem, he needs to suspend the engine and pull the oil pan off and change the oil pick up tube which isn't a cheap repair.
Plus a sludge repair is covered by audi of north america as long as you have all your oil change reciepts regardless of mileage.
