Default installation of homelink

if my audi does not come with the homelink already, if i buy a sunvisor that DOES have homelink on it, is there a way to get it to work with my car? i know it seems wasteful, but i'd really like to have this feature

it doesn't seem possible because you will need the homelink sensor on your front bumper too

If Homelink was originally an available option, the transmitter may already be there, or be easy to add. If you are interested enough it's worth contacting your Audi dealer and asking.

maybe you could enlighten us on the installation or what it took to get it to work. did you just pop in the sunvisor and it worked just like that?

i figured the homelink sensor was IN the visor itself. if not im sure i can get the sensor from somewhere. badluckaudi what did you do to install? just slap that baby on? or did you have to connect some wires somewhere?

There are a few other active threads on this topic already that should be able to answer your questions.
