Does anyone have a write up on how to install a snub mount?

Nope it's not for a B5, but it's very easy for a B6 or B7.

Depends on which aftermarket snub you are getting. APR snub is probably the hardest just because I think it is made out of a really tough poly. And just from my experience I hope for your sake you didnt get APR I had lots of vibrations. But people with 5sp. tranny have different experiences with it. I eded up taking the APR snub off and getting the updated OEM "buffer" mount is what they call it. No problems!

mine was easy as hell. i went with the greed speed one though. the front bumper has to be removed and part of the radiatorr as well. but just pop it in the microwave and grease it up.

I went with the Pure MS snub and it was pretty tough plastic. Didn't really have any problems, but definately helped having 2 people. I would recommend asking a friend to help. I don't have much automotive experience so it took me roughly 2 hours to install and put everything back on.

it is definitely much easier to install with someone to help you. if you've got two people it really isn't that difficult. just make sure you stick in a microwave for a few seconds to soften it up, or else you'll probably be struggling with it for a good 30 minutes

It isnt hard for a B5... you just gotta lift the radiator out of the way (it will seem hard because the headlights need to clear the fenders).. then a nice rubber mallet on a warm (Microwaved) snub and its on

Hey guys, so what the hell is the secret with the snub on the B5?

That link someone posted from Dieselgeek doesn't have anything...my mechanic & I had a look underneath and noticed there is a plastic tube running from the intercooler - does that need to come off too?

Basically can someone sum it up for me in WHAT particular order does stuff need to come off (headlights, rad, etc.)

I pickeup the APR Black one but am thinking about returning it for what ONEPOINTTEE went with.

Thanks,
-Trav.
