Default instrument cluster and part #'s...help

Alright so i'm helping my friend get a new instrument cluster for his 2001 B5 and ebay is our main place that we are looking. I've found one for around 250 dollars or so. However the seller which looks pretty legit says it fits 2000's only and the Part # 8D0-920-980 C. Where do you all go to look up part numbers for bmw's we just go to realoem.com is there such a site for audi's that is actually legit and has reliable information. I don't think they changed the B5 at all from 2000 to 2001? If anybody has any insight it'd be greatly appreciated.

Ok here is what I found...1.8T and 2.8 use the same part numbers according to All Data Pro, no difference if they are manual or automatic(Tip), FWD or Quattro

2000 A4: With Driver Info. System....PN:8D0920980CX....MSRP:$708.57

2001 A4: With Driver Info. System....PN:8D0920980CX....MSRP:$708.57

the only difference between the years is if the cluster came without the information center, then its a different number (8D0920950JX)

hope that helps you out

Cheers...Sean

i'd say give it a shot and go for it...you can always ask for a picture of the part number label thats on the side of the dash I suppose....I think the X isnt significant enough to worry
