1) Since buying the car second hand the ENGINE TEMERATURE GAUGE has either not worked at all or has functioned intermittently.
2) On the supplimentary instument panel the OIL PRESSURE GAUGE needle is fully deflected to the right all the time the ignition is on.
Would love to get these issues sorted. Any helpful comments or suggestions will be much appreciated.

 

1: ECT sensor needs to be replaced. VERY easy fix. when looking at the motor, lean over so you can see the back of the head. the sensor sits on a flange coming out of the back of the head on a 1.8t ,so I imagine that it will be very similar on your car. just pull the clip, pull out the sensor and replace, and put the clip back in. PIECE OF CAKE. (don't get the sensor ffrom a dealer, they will rip you off. call ECS tuning or a local shop for the sensor.
2: I have no experience with the oil pressure guage. My A4 does not have a pressure gauge, but i believe they are right by the oil filter. you would have to ask someone who has had more experience with this.
