Intake and CEL help!
ok so i have a 99 a4 1.8t and last night i decided to do the cone filter intake conversion. All went well when i drove the car when i was done, then i came home and when i staerted it back up i had a CEL. I see that everyone is putting a breather filter on their secondary air pump hose but i dont even see mine anywhere. Could anyone tell me where this hose would be and if this could be the cause of my problem.
I dont think all 99's had the secondary air pump. The airbox I have is from a 99 with secondary air pump and there is port on the front of the box for the hose. You would know it if you had it. The reason for your CEL will be unknown until you get your ecu scanned for the fault code, but its probably due to an over oiled filter or your maf was damaged in the process, or the wiring harness to it isnt plugged infully.
You DOhave your MAF sensor in line between the filter and turbo inlet pipe right??

Do you really think an over oiled filter would ruin his MAF in 1 drive?? That seems a little extreme.

I stand corrected then....as for the secondary air pump.

i know oil isnt causing it and yes i do have my maf hooked up lol...i scanned the codes and i cant think exactly what they were but it was like manufacturer emission control and air fuel metering device something...this thing is really starting to **** me off!![:@]
