intake qestions

I see alot of people with open air eliment intakes, I am going to get a heat shield from one of the guys on audizine and was going to run an open cone filter but what do you guys do with your ICM's? I never see any pics with them installed on the intakes.. so what gives

I'm not really sure what you're talking about. An intake would consist of the MAF sensor, silicon tube, whatever shape tubing you want to use, and a filter.

Mount the ICM onto the mounting bracket that goes between the Heatshield and the wheel well (left side) that should work just fine!

well if the car is pre 2000 we have an ICM witch is on top of the airbox (ignition controm modual) not sure what to do with it

so the ICM dosen't need to get any airflow like the Maf.. it just looks like it dose becasue of the way its mounted and it has the wierd mettle peace inside the airbox

it doesnt get airfow now... so it doesnt need it then...

the metal peice is a heatsink, leave it on, mount it to something metal to dispurse the heat , unless you want a failing ICM

I have a DBW car so I've personally never dealt with one. But from what I'm reading it seems like the ICM needs some kind of heatsink (plus you don't want it to be rattling around while you drive)

mine is actually just hangin now tho, but if the metal is there to be a heatsink, i think i better mount it soon
