I have a 96 2.8 that was having the same thing. I thought it was a heatsheild or something so i took off the panel under the steering wheel so i could see under there. Turns out there was a rubber gasket that goes around the steering colum and seals the hole between the engine and cabin was loose. It was east to but back in place and heat problem was solved. Im not sure it will be the same case since your car is newer but it is worth a look.

SO. as long as your not racing the whole time your driving the car, you wont have to worry bout that, and If you are racing the entire time, that also could be part of the heat.
