the worst part is that a good deal of the 12v that I have helped with are the passats, PITA to work on not like ours where you just pull the bumper.

So the rods is the ONLY weak point in the 1.8T engines... Right ???

I want to know for sure since im taking out a 20K loan to mod the crap out of my car (suspension, turbo upgrade, Exhaust ,Engine Internals, and some minor interior upgrades along with RS4 Kit)

I dont want to blow anything, im sure the wifey wont be too happy then[sm=chairshot.gif]

should i opt for pistons ??

The head will be worked (port and polish, manley back cut valves HD spirngs and super lightweight retainers and seats) and most likely carillo h-beam rods and a big maybe on a set of JE's. ARP headstud set, and contemplating on a eurospec reinforcement girdle for a bit more lateral support for the block.

the turbo upgrade will consiste of a custom tubular header, GT30R, Tial 38mm, and a custom 3"dp and exhaust with a nifty lil idea i have for noise control
since i still dont know the opening size on the RS4 bumper i dunno the IC size yet but im sure it will be pretty big

yeah.. that would be unwise to not do the pistons, since your doing everything else

Also would it benefit me any by upgrading the center differential to the Stasis unit ???
