yeah, you'll have to sacrifice your changer, but why would you need a CD changer anymore then? my iPod substitutes as a 300 disc CD changer.

i would have to assume so since i didn't have to alter anything with the harness, it's just plug and play.
but for a single disc there's allways the dash headunit.....

I'm thinking of getting one of these for my 2001 A4. How do I know if I need the one that plugs in through the trunk or from the rear of the stereo? Can someone enlighten me, I'm ignorant on the subject. The price is decent too, definitley worth it since you get a 1500+ song option and its portable too!

If you have the 6 CD changer in the trunk..then u need the one that plugs in in the trunl...if not..and u have the siingle CD in the dash..then u get the ine that goes to the head unit....

even if you dont have the changer-itself, all of the cars manufactured are made with the wiring harness in place....
open up the little compartment-thing on the left-hand side of your trunk(where the jack is kept) and fish around for a cable flopping around.. thats your changer harness.

mine is a 2001 so i can garuntee you that yours will be right there too, regardless of wether you had the actual CD changer option or not
