I know you like the stock look of the headunit but another idea would be to get a Head unit that plays MP3's(get a head unit with a red display so you can keep the color scheme the same in your interior)...You might have some extra MP3 CD'z lying around in the car afterwards but Burning a CD with almost 200 songs is great...Plus for about the same price you are paying for the Ipod you have more clarity in the music along with radio tuner and more auxilery options etc...The ipod idea is cool also but I personally think you have to have a clean install with a custom mount for it to look good in the car...Maybe think about running wires to the middle armrest and putting the docking station inside. if you could do that i'd be impressed...Tell us how things go...

 

I have mine run into the glove compartment and i can control my entire ipod from my alpine HU.

 

like i was telling lnkn87 it would be much easier to have an aftermarket HU...You have any pics of your install?

that is the HU installed the ipod interface is insaide the console but hard to see and the wires go from there right into the golve compartment. I did that my slef, it comes with them just out in the car. Then u just plug it into the dock connector and hide it. U control everything from teh HU. U have to do everything from the HU which i dont like cause sometimes my friends try and go thru the ipod looking for songs. What i would do is have soem AV inputs plugged into teh back (if possible) and plug thos into the headphone jack. The HU also charges ur ipod just so u know.
