ipod hookup
there is a really good DIY on taking your cigarette ashtray and making it an ipod cradle its in the diy section on the forum but if you don;t have nav then the easiest thing to do would be the purchase the ipod interface and swap out the 6 cd changer for the ipod interface and run the wires from the back of the radio to the glove box or if your feeling saucy, try the DIY ipod cradle
i have the nav with ipod interface well...kind of i didn;t realize until i bought the car that the ipod interface isn;t exactly what it promises....its kinda hard to explain but essentially the screen that comes up for the ipod interface says "6 cd changer"
cd's 1-5 are your first 5 playlists and cd 6 is all of your songs it was a little confusing at first but then i realized what each 'cd' was and went from there....i love the nav tho

I do not have factory nav. As with the other, 1-6 is cd in dash. 7-12 is ipod and aux in. it all works well but you do not get any ipod info. You can control track up down and what not, you can chose play list or song, and you can adjust treble and bass along with gain for aux in.
Ok quickie here, so If manage to get a ipod adapter that is comparable to what audi installs can I run it with external cd changer controls or will have I have to disable the indash 6 disc. Basically when I pull the unit out what open plugs will I find behind it.... I hope that makes sense Im trying to figure out what the plug on the adapter will have to look like...
Gonna be doin this soon will let you know how it turns out

The Dice that I bought works off disk 6-12. In dash 6 still works like normal. So now I have 6 disc in dash, Ipod and aux input0n 6-12, and Sirius in dash. All work from in dash and steering wheel controls.
