Alpine 12 inch type R sub = $200, Alpine MRD-M605 600 Watt mono amp = $240, Stinger multiamp wiring kit + Stinger RCA interconnects + Stinger Line Out Converter + 2 Feet Stinger Pro speaker wire = $100, 6 hours of install time = free, Bass the hits like I couldn't believe = Priceless. It was a tough journey, fraught with tension and adversity, but a worth-while one. Most difficult parts were removing the ECU cover and the passenger side wall in the trunk. Having done it once, I could probably do it again in a 3rd of the time. Thanx to those from here, the zine, and audiworld for your help. The next step, after my year-long "vacation" in Iraq will be to build a fiberglass box and stick the sub in the left wall. And putting in an Alpine multichannel amp and type R speakers for the doors.

If you got the dual voice coil version of that make sure you wire it in 2 ohm mode. you will get between 400-600W RMS depending on voltage. If you wired it 4 ohm you wont get enough wattage to that speaker. maybe 250? 300?

Those speakers can handle 500W RMS? 1000W Peak.

Did you get dual 2 ohm or dual 4 ohm voice coils?

 

I got the dual 4 ohm coils. The way I have things connected now, it definitely hits hard enough. I have to turn it way down to avoid the wrath of the MPs until I get off post.
