d00d im going to run with a potato chip glued to my ECU w/ a GT40r turbo.. that'll show ya!

dont use k04 programming for a turbo almost 2x the size... the density levels of each turbo are so different you would have some major fuel problems.

you cant even run gt28rs programming on a t3/4 ... someone did and poped their motor.

That being said... j31 is what chip+200 extra? I dont know so dont ask me .. 700$ .. you might as well spend a few more bucks and get uni/stand alone.

You can cut corners on alot of things, making your own manifold, fabbing some parts.. but one thing you REALLY dont want to cut corners on is programming.. you could have great hardware but poor software will make you run lean/rich ... pop you motor... just bad news...

j31 = k04 on steroids file.

You need a base gtrs file...

But only for 2000's it will not work on 2001's

 

hmmm.. people how have little/no knowledge about the basics or cars.. should only get a chip.
for people who know that, but very little about options and audis... get a package from a company....

if you are mechanically inclined, know basics or more about cars.. and have knowledge about audis.. then a peice together kit will do you good.

with all that being said.. I am no "Car god" or "super mechanic" , but I have the ability to read and learn, and take common sense into effect.

at any rate..........

Just a thought for anyone going to run high boost on a DBW audi... if you get about 19 PSI ( I think thats the number) you CAN get into a closing throttle problem. I dont know if chip software has solved this yet.

 

i have a dbw audi and i hit about 25psi on my gtrs when I was having wastegate issues....and no throttle issue....

 

thats why I emphasized CAN... since it doesnt always happen.. maybe its a certain engine code.. I dont know.... but I just like to make sure people have the idea inside their head.
